Volunteer

Start2Finish’s volunteers are people from all walks of life who are linked by a common thread:  A desire to help eradicate child poverty across the nation. Without volunteer support, we would not be able to provide the services and supports our members and communities rely on. Volunteering is great opportunity for adults and youth to give back to their community and for high school students to complete their community service hours

Volunteer opportunities in the following areas;

  • Running & Reading Club Coaches

  • Junior Coach Leadership Development Coaches

  • Special events (Year End Event, Backpack Packing)

  • Social Media Administration

  • Fundraising

OUR COMMITMENT 

  • Providing orientation, training and support

  • Providing an adequate workspace and environment

  • Supplying communication about events and organizational happenings (through email, the website, etc.)

  • Offering feedback to questions

  • Providing recognition for the work of volunteers

  • Honouring our volunteers

    • By providing orientation and training opportunities to volunteers to help them grow in skills and abilities

    • By hosting social gatherings for volunteers

    • By keeping them in touch with the happenings of the organization through email, website, etc.

Land Acknowledgement

We would like to acknowledge the land on which we work, and which Start2Finish operates, is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular, we acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land, and by doing so, give our respect to its first inhabitants.
