For the past year and a half I have been volunteering in Spryfield, Nova scotia as a coach.

I started volunteering for school, but I couldn’t leave! These children show up to the program every week so excited, and it makes me extremely excited too. I love this program because, for the two hours a week, I forget about anything else I have going on and focus on fun! From my perspective, these programs act as a bubble for all involved. Both the children’s lives and the coach's lives come to a halt, all that is focused on is the program, and having fun. At the beginning of the year, coaches were getting a few high-fives, come to the end of the year, every child was lining up to high-five every single coach goodbye. To see children’s ability to grow valuable relationships with other children as well as with coaches continues to astound me.
